THE CURIOUS BEAR
Once upon a time, there was this curious bear. His name was…(Child guess). Well this bear was walking in the woods and being a curious bear, he liked to look in things and touch things and taste things.
He noticed a big long hollow log just off the side of his path. He took a look inside and stuck his whole head in it. Can you guess who was in that hollow log? Here’s a hint (Hold your nose) Phew!
It was a skunk, and he sprayed the bear right in the face. P.U. Well the bear got out of there real fast.
He was walking further in the woods when he saw a tree with a big hole in the side. So he climbed up and stuck his hand deep into the whole. Now you should never stick your hand in a strange hole because do you know who was in that hole? I’ll give you a hint. It has sharp needles for protection.
It was a porcupine! (Shake hand as if it were hurt) YEOW! His paw really hurt. So he climbed down and got out of there real fast.
Now the bear came to a river and saw something interesting on the other side, but he had to cross the river first. It was shallow at first, but soon it was as deep as his belly. Well the bear wasn’t paying attention because do you know who was in that river? I’ll give you a hint. (Two hands together like an alligator)
It was an alligator and it started to bite the bear right on his butt! (Squirming motions). OUCH!
Well he ran out of that river and shook himself off. But now he could smell something that was real sweet. It was his favorite food in the whole wide world. Can you guess what it was? (quiet bbzzzzzzz)
It was honey, and he could see the bee hive just up ahead. It had honey dripping right out of the bottom. He went up to it and tasted it with his tongue, when a little bee saw him. Well that bee got mad and flew down and stung the bear right on the nose. And that made the bear real angry, so he took his paw and he hit the beehive.
Do you know what happens if you mess around with bees?
I’ll give you a hint. (Make LOUD buzzing sound and tickle child)
That bear ran out of there as fast as he could. Now his face stunk,
his hand hurt, his butt was sore and he was covered with bee stings.
Do you know what he did? Well he found a nice pile of leaves
and laid down and fell asleep. (Snoring sound LOUD)
THE END

This bear finds lots of trouble. Make big eyes and gestures and be the bear! This will teach them about looking and thinking before doing. Have fun with this one!
